Meet the Musician

Christopher Sharp

Christopher David Sharp is a Southern New Jersey native with deep pride in his grassroots upbringing. From a family of natural-born artists, musical talent and the love of multiple art forms runs deep through Chris’s heritage. Chris picked up his first guitar at 12 years old to give strumming, singing, and songwriting a try — he never put it back down.

It was in his earliest years that Chris began to understand the profound power of music as not only an art form, but also a way to access the minds and hearts of young people and carry meaningful messages across generations. During his teenage years and his 20s, music became an enormous and ever-growing part of Chris’ identity. From New York City to Nashville, TN, and even to Europe, Chris travelled and performed with many talented groups and musicians well into his 30s and 40s. While making his rounds, though, Chris particularly loved to share the ways that different types of music can stir your soul and awaken your heart.

After the arrival of his daughter, Amy, Chris quickly began to understand the importance of instilling family values in children at a very young age in the most fun and creative ways possible.

With a personal understanding of the power of music, a unique love of animals, and a higher calling to share these passions with the world, the idea of Animal Tracks was born.

Chris is a person filled with undying faith, passion, magic, a love for nature, a rare sensitivity for the ethereal, musical brilliance, and a remarkable love and generosity for those with whom he is close. He pours his soul into his work, his family, and his friends. By bringing Animal Tracks’ characters to life, Chris wishes to touch the lives of countless families.

Meet the Illustrator

Chelsea Vaccaro

Chelsea’s family knew she was going to be an artist from the time she could pick up a pencil. When she held up her first true drawing and declared that it was a mouse begging for cheese, her mother placed it proudly in her wallet – and it is still there nearly 30 years later.

Since her first piece, Chelsea’s abilities, subject matter and mixes of media have all multiplied immensely. She continued drawing throughout her childhood with anything she could get her little hands on – pencils, pens, crayons, markers, chalk – and on anything in her path, with the exception of (thankfully) the walls. Paint then caught her attention, and quickly became one of her favorite mediums of self expression.

Her love of painting continued to grow, and she became known in her hometown of Ocean City, NJ for her imaginative and vibrant works of art that graced art shows, shops downtown, and eventually entire walls in locations varying from restaurants to bedrooms. She also learned to sew and a shop on the main street in town requested to sell her handmade purses.

The town’s appreciation of Chelsea’s talent resulted in multiple opportunities, including an introduction to Chris Sharp, who requested her assistance in translating the Animal Tracks musical personalities into complimentary illustrations.

Eventually Chelsea’s vast portfolio at such a young age helped her to secure a spot at her dream school, Laguna College of Art & Design (LCAD) in Laguna Beach, California. Since graduating from LCAD, Chelsea has stayed on the West Coast. She has moved north and is happily settled with her partner-in-crime of over 15 years and fellow fine artist, Brendan Gilbert.
